Welcome to Warwick Strings! We are a relaxed, unauditioned orchestra playing a variety of music. If you play a string instrument- be it the violin or double bass, this is the society for you.

Warwick Strings was set up to increase the opportunity for string players to play together in a friendly environment. We enjoy playing music together and aspire to improve as individuals and as an ensemble.

We are a totally open and non-auditioned orchestra and we welcome prospective members to come along and try out the repertoire. We are sure you will enjoy it! Recent pieces we have played include Grieg's Elegiac Melodies, Rachmaninoff's Vocalise, and Pirates of the Caribbean, as well as pieces composed especially for us by our student conductor. We are also open to suggestions for music from members, ever keen to expand our repertoire.

Warwick Strings is conducted by Lisa Fordham and Victoria Lucas. In the past, we have played in churches in Leamington Spa and Kenilworth, as well as hosting concerts on campus.

Socials are organised during the year including meals after our concerts, trips to the pub and the Music Centre Ball. We also attend the Cleverducks Pub Quiz, so there is something to suit everyone.

We rehearse on Thursdays from 5-7pm in the Ensemble Room, located in the Arts Centre on central campus.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact any of the exec, we will get back to you as soon as possible.
